This Sunday it was Kallie's birthday! And ofcours I bought a big present and went to her big party. It was so much fun. We danced and just had fun.. I thought I would just enjoy the time that I still can do what I want and not to worry about the baby. It's crazy...next year I will need to find someone to take care of the baby so I can go to Kallie her birthday. Everything is going to change. But it was so so sooo much fun. and again: Happy Birthday Kallie!!!

I've Got an Apple in my Belly! 15 Weeks.
''Your growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple). She's busy moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract. which helps the primitive air sacs in her lung begin to develop. Her legs are growing longer than her arms now, and she can move all of her joints and limbs. Although her eyelids are still fused shut, she can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, she's likely to move away from the beam. There's not much for your baby to taste at this point, but she is forming taste buds. Finally, if you have an ultrasound this week, you may be able to find out whether your bab's a boy or a girl! (Don't be too disappointed if it remains a mystery, though. Nailing down your baby's sex depends on the clarity of the pictures and on your baby's position. He or she may be modestly curled up or turned in such a way as to ''hide the goods.'')''
I just love being pregnant! I feel great and have a little belly now, I can't wait for this lil' bugger to arrive. Zach absolutely loves my new ''belly'' and can't get enough of it. I find him constantly staring at it and smiling. He loves touching it, rubbing it and kissing it. He has been doing so much research lately (more than I have) about what I should be eating, when to start plaing classical music to it, and much much more. He cares about me and this baby so much and tells me everyday. I'm so happy with him! At school I'm wearing just baggy shirts. I thing everyone knows it at this point. But some how I just feel more comfortable. I did got some negative comments about it.. who cares? I'm just happy that I got a lot more support.

2nd Trimester, Here We Are!
''Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his tumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features from one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him -- a process he'll keep up until birth. He can gasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you ma even catch him sucking his tumb.
In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches -- about the size of a lemon -- and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces. His body's growing faster than his head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, his arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of his body. (His legs still have some lengthening to do.) He's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over his body. Your baby's liver starts making bile this week -- a sign that it's doing its job right -- and his spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells. Though you can't feel his tiny punches and kicks yet, your little pugilist's hand and feet (which now measure about 1/2 inch long) are more flexible and active.''

Our baby is the size of a LEMON! When I read that this morning, I pulled out a lemon and put it up to my tummy....I can't believe our baby has grown so much. Time is going by so quickly, I can't believe our baby is going to be here in less than 6 months!!

I woke up to this...
And had to take quite a few ''second looks,'' because I feel like it just appreared out of nowhere. Last night I was at Zach's house, and out beautiful Taryn was there ad she kept wanting to tub my lil' belly. She told me how hard it was, so I felt it. (for some reason, I haven't really felt my bell since I've been pregnant, so had no idea what to expect). To surprise, my belly is really hard....I guess I expected it to be squooshy or something.
We've got some curvature going on here...Zach and I went to see my Dad today. This has been the first time I've seen him since I started ''showing.'' Being the honest man he is, he told me ''Sam, I can really tell your hormoned are kicking in. You look fluffy.'' Yes, my dad used the word FLUFFY. I couldn't stop laughing, because only my dad would say that and think nothing of it...ha ha!

and I'm feeeeelin' gooooood........
Other than having insomnia, indigestion and my face breaking out, my energy is returning, my breasts are feeling less tender, and my queasiness has completely abated. Ya! thuis pregnancy thing isn't too bad anymore.
Lately, I've been taking time to plan, daydream, and enjoy this amazing time. I guess its normal to worry a bit now and then, but I'm trying to focus on taking care of myself and my baby, and having faith that I'm well equipped for whats ahead. I haven't read any pregnancy preparation books yet, because right now, my chief goal is to be physically fit, nutritionally stocked and emotionally calm! Because in the end, as long as myself and the baby are healthy, I think figuring out the other stuff will just come.
Yesterday at school, there where some girls coming up to me and they where like ''So, you're pregnant'' So I just said ''yeah'' and they where laughing me out in my face. Like seriously? Go somewhere else and laugh. I didn't say anything. I was tired of those people. So I just walked away. I think there are going to be a lot of those people.. I think that half of my school knows it by now. The only class I told was my math class..but there are some ugly people in there. So thank you very much! I don't care what they think of me. I know what's best for me and my baby.

This morning Zach's mom came over really early. And she gave us the IntelliGender test, at first I was like ''what is that'' so she explained it. It's kind of an at home 'ultrasound,' but than with your urine. Where you can find out the gender. It isn't as good as a real ultrasound, but we did this just for fun. If you want to know more you can check out the IntelliGender site, http://www.intelligender.com
It was so much fun to do, you mix your pee with this white powder and after 5 minutes the colour turns greenish, or yellow-orange. After 5 minutes Zach and I watched and the colour was...
We couldn't really decide what colour it was. So, you decide. This was just for fun. We are still going to wait until our 18 week ultrasound to find out the gender. Comment, what do you think?
13 weeks and lovin' it!!
I am a new woman/girl just like everyone told me...''wait until you are in your 2rd trimester and you will feel so much better.'' It's so true!!! No more feeling car sick 24-7, ya! Overall, I'm feeling pretty good and I feel back to my old self again. I'm still pretty tired, but seriously, as long as I don't feel sick anymore, I'm doing good!
''Fingerprints have formed on your baby's tiny fingertips, her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and her body is starting to catch up with her head -- which makes up just a third of her body size now. If you are having a girl, she now had more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. Your baby is almost 3 inches long (the size of a medium shrimp) and weighs neatly an ounce.''

Boy or Girl??
We are definately going to find out whether its a lil' girl or boy, because we are SO SO exited and we are both planners :) Gotta get that nursery perfect!
Zach and I went to the mall to buy some things for the baby..some diapers, creams etc. Just the basic things.
I have no idea what we are having....a lot of people say that you are supposed to have a ''feeling,'' but I don't think I do. At first I felt I was having a boy, but I'm not sure. My mom thinks its a girl. Zach thinks a boy..Random people that dont even know me said its a boy...So I made a poll thingie, what do you think? You can vote! You will find the poll on the right side.

The Business of Being Born
Quite a few people have told me to watch ''The Business of Being Born,'' a documentary educating people on how most children born in hospitals today are born Moday-Friday, 8-5 and how over 70% of women use a midwife in every modernized country, and less than 8% of women use midwives in the US.....so I asked my midwife if I could borrow a copy. So, last night, Zach said: '' what should we do?'' I suggested watching '' The Busniness of Being Born.''...I mean, what better to do than watch a birthing documentary in the middle of the night :) Zach, being so confident and always to the point answered, ''I'm already conviced otherwise, so why the need to watch it...'' I just love him...he is very mych for not usig an OBGYN, as I am! We ended up watching it....I recommend it to every one, especially every mother-to-be. It was so wonderful watching all the amazing and low maintenance home births. It really gives us a different perspective on how things are done in the country. I've always known (since my mom started studying bodies and nutrition) that I wanted to use a midwife, but this confirms everything....same goes for Zach. It is such a wonderful celebration of giving birth, I can't wait! I pray that everything goes well and that there will be no need for a hospital.

Almost to my 2nd Tri-mester!!!
''The most dramatic development this week: reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mounth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it. His intestines, which have grow so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder.
Meanwhile, nerve cells are multiplying rapidly, and in your baby's brain, spynapses are forming furiously. His face looks unquestionably human: His eyes have moved from the sides to the front of his head, and his ears are right where they should be. From crown to rump, your baby-to-be is just over 2 inches long (about the size of a lime) and wighs half an ounce.''
I'm so exited for the first trimester to be over with because I'm already starting to feel a lot better and am regaining a lot of m energy back, YA!!!
Zach and I had a very relaxing friday togheter. I didn't had school, so it was very relaxing. We stayed at his house and napped, watched movies, napped some more, ate grilled cheese (I have been eating cheese, which I haven't really eaten in a couple of years), and were talking and laughed while laying in bed. It was so relacing and wonderful - a much needed day. We were talking about how pretty soon we will have our little baby and possible and hopefully have days like this, just the 3 of us sleeping, playing, sleeping, talking. But I know it's not going to be like that. It's going to be hard to take care of our little one and keeping up with school. But I know it's going to be all worth it.

Starting to get chubby...
Yesterday one of my friends said that I was starting to show. OK, so it's official, my belly is starting to grow. When my mom took these pictures, ONE - she wouldn't stop making me laugh and TWO - she wouldn't stop blinding me with the flash. That's why I look high.
I can really tell in this angle that my belly is growing! I've officially gained 7 pounds already. I'm not sure if this is water retention, because my eating habits have changed or if its just normail....either way, big belly here I come! Sometimes I still don't believe that I'm pregnant and carrying a child inside of me, but every time I see the ultrasound picture, I cry, knowing that a beautiful being is inside of me. I often wonder what it's going to look like, what its personality traits from both Zach and I are going to be, what will its first word be...the questions are endless. I love this baby so much already and can't wait to meet him/her
11 weeks pregnant!
''Your baby, just over 1 1/2 inches long and about the size of a fig, is now almost fully formed. Her hands will soon open and close into fists, tiny tooth buds are beginning to appear under her gums, and some of her bones are beginning to harden. She's already busy kicking and stretching, and het tiny movements are so effortless they look like water ballet. These movements will become more frequent as her body grows and becomes more developen and functional. You won't feel your baby's acrobatics for another month or to - nor will you notice the hiccupping that may be happening now that her diaphragm is forming.''
