6 month love bug

Wow, my lil' Smoosh is 1/2 a year old! When I look back to the day we brought her home up until now, I am overwhelmed with emotions! From anxiety and new challenges to the incredible depth of Love I now know, she has changed our little family for the better in so many ways.

Sophia is CRAWLING, backwards that is :) So who knows when she will figure out she is supposed to go forward :) She is also holding herself up on the couch, crib and anything taller than her. She LOVES and I mean LOVES to bounce. She will bounce in her johnny jumper for an hour straight. However, her favorite way to bounce is when someone is holding her--which gives you an intense tri-cep workout.

No solids yet, but we were given a high chair a few weeks ago, and she loves to sit in it and be part of the ''party'' when we eat meals. I also put her in it while I'm cooking in the kitchen. When she is ready to get out of it, she lets you know!

We also go on a daily walk--usually around the neighborhoor. There are some killer hills, so I'm getting my workout too! It seems like just the other day when she would fuss and cry when I took her on walks, but now she really enjoys them. I think she loves the fresh air, the smells, and watching her dog Zeus lead the way. The walks put her to sleep almost every time, so now I try to plan out my walks when its nap time.
Her new favorite toy that makes plenty of fun noises

That's what I call a chunky knee

One of her new favorite faces: doscovering that tongue of hers

5 month love bug

Lil' Sophia is the perfect fit to our family! We adore her in more ways than we could have ever imagined.

Sophia Loves:
smiling at everyone...whether it's her nana, daddy or a complete stranger. If you look at her and smile or make noise. she will giggle and smile back with those precious lil' dimples she has. She loves bath/shower time. Playing with her piano. Going shopping with mama and looking at all the lights and different colors. Being tickeld. When daddy throws her in the air and catches her. kisses on her belly. being outside. listening to herself scream--yes, that is correct.

Sophia doesn't so much love:
Being in her car seat while awake, this can be hit or miss. I try to plan out my errands right before she is going to fall asleep--this way as soon as I put her in the car, she passes out.

How I'm doing:
Still having to wear lovely nursing tanks with those lovely nursing pads at night. I leak like a leaking sink still :( Approximately 2 pounds away from ''pre baby'' weight, although I feel like I'm smaller than I was pre-baby because I believe I have lost some of my muscle :( I realized really early on that her crying REALLY bothers me. I'm sure no one likes the sound of a crying baby. but I honestly cannot stand it. Other babies crying doesn't bother me one bit, just mine.

Sophia in 3 words:

STRONG!-I think anyone that holds her agrees. She had been strong since day one and keeps getting stronger each day. I have to warn people that hold her for the first time because she will literally jump right out of your arms.

Coordinated-Her hands and eye coordination is a 10!

Precious-Of course I think she is the most precious baby in the world! She is so sweet in every way :)

Sophia Loves:
Laughing and watching her doggies. She loves bath/shower time. Smiling at people she loves and at strangers who smile at her. :) Grabbing anything and everything and putting in her mouth--or at least trying too. Going on walks and looking at the world.

Sophia doesn't so much love:
Sitting on her ERGO carrier facing me. She wants to face the world so I borrowed a front facing carrier from Jen and she loves it! Loud voices. This is too bad because I always said from day one that I wanted to be used to loud voices because our ENTIRE family is loud....but she isn't just having it. Bottles--yep, we pretty much missed the boat on this one. I didn't know I was supposed to introduce her to one before 4 months :) So it looks like its my boob until she's done.

Sophia's Stats:
-weighs 16 pounds or so (according to my scale)
-Wearing 6 month clothes
-Balding on her left side (because that's the side she sleeps on)
-Goes to bed at 9pm, wakes up between 7-9am...with a feeding or two now n then.
-She can almost sit up on her own for more than 10 seconds :)
-She can roll over back n forth and does so often
-She is a drooling machine.

Our lil' Smoosh

Oh Sophia,

Your daddy and I can't believe how much you are growing. You are rolling over like a champ all the time and you laughed out load--yes a real laugh when we were taking our family walk around the neighborhood. It seems like it was just the other day that we were riding home from the birth house to start our new life together. Now we cannot picture our life any other way! You are the light of our life and we promise to be the best parents we know how to be.

3 month Love bug

My dear Sophia is already 3 months....and you guessed it, where is the time going? Everyone always says that the 3 months mark is a big one. That it is! She is growing into a little person right before my eyes and no longer is just an infant crying, eating and pooping. Of course she still does those three things, but now we can already see her personality coming out. She holds my hand, cuddles, stares, giggles, smiles, frowns, kisses, sucks, sticks out her tongue, follows with her eyes, holds her head up and sleeps wonderfuly :) I am crazy with taking pictures of Sophia but noticed that I hardly have any of the two of us or the three of us, so my goal is to capture more pictures of our family so I have the memories.

Sophia in 3 words:

Adorable-I can't get over all of the little corky and cute things that she does. I could just stare at her for hours.

Observant-Oh how quickly she is growing and wants to look at everything. I love being able to look at things through her eyes and watch her look at things for the very first time. She doesn't like tummy time so much anymore because she wants to look at the world and not at the ground.

Knows-what-she-wants (ok, that's not a word)--She sure is a ''first born'' if you know what I mean. She will let you know when she wants something. :)

Sophia LOVES:
To be held, kisses, being sung to (even if your voice isn't that great, she loves good humming), to snuggle in the wee hours of the morning, being bounced, to pretend to walk and be held up like she is walking, being tickled on her belly by daddy, making eye contact and playing on her 'play mat' while listening to music and being held outward so she can look at the world in front of her.

Yes, her eyes are still blue with a greenish tint.

Sophia doesn't so much LOVE:
Diaper changes when she first wakes up, falling asleep on her own (however she is getting better at it), the sun in her eyes, tummy time, not being held when she starts to get tired and loud voices.

Bumble Bee tuna

Sophia received quite a few swimsuits at her showers, but this is the one that fits right now. This was mine when I was a baby.

That said, Sophia is already growing out of it. :(

Honestly.....the CUTEness! Can't get enough of that belly :) She sucks on her hands ALL the time now. I think it comforts her.
